Grain Millers
Grain Millers, Inc., Eden Prairie, MN has announced a significant capacity expansion at their recently acquired Popowich Milling subsidiary located in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. According to Steven J. Eilertson, President of Grain Millers Inc. additional capacity in excess of 60,000 tons annually is planned. Mr. Eilertson stated that " A capital investment of this magnitude confirms our dedication to being the premier supplier of processed oat products throughout North America."
The expansion will be completed in two phases. The initial phase is currently underway with additional equipment installations and is expected to be completed in early 2002, according to Rick L. Schwein, President of Grain Millers (Canada), Inc. Schwein said that " The facility is located in the prime oat growing region of the Canadian prairie and its' dedicated personnel made this an easy decision. We are excited about completing the project as soon as possible."
Privately held, Grain Millers, Inc. owns grain and other food processing facilities throughout North America. In addition to the newly acquired Yorkton, SK facility, the company also operates specialty grain processing facilities in Eugene, OR, and St. Ansgar, IA, producing oat, wheat, barely and rye ingredients for both conventional and organic applications to the food industry. Grain Millers, Inc also operates a multi-grain mixing and blending facility in Eugene, OR, a state of the art, high-speed consumer products packaging facility in St. Ansgar, IA and a consumer packaging facility in Yorkton, SK.
Agri Trading Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Grain Millers, Inc., provides the milling facilities with grain procurement and by-product marketing services. ATC is also active in the marketing of food and feed ingredients throughout the United Sates, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Japan and China.
